Industry Context

Why Automotive & EV demands a different engineering approach

The automotive industry is in the middle of its most significant transformation in a century — electrification and connectivity are rewriting the rules for every component supplier and OEM. NewTechSpot supports this transition with electronics design and embedded software for EV powertrains, battery management systems, telematics units, and connected vehicle platforms.

We understand the functional safety (ISO 26262), EMC, and AEC-Q100 component requirements that automotive-grade design demands — and we're practical about applying them to the right projects at the right level of rigour.

What makes Automotive technology hard

Battery Safety & Longevity

Li-ion batteries require precise charge/discharge management to prevent thermal runaway and maximise cycle life. A weak BMS is a critical safety liability.

Vehicle Connectivity

Fleet operators and OEMs increasingly require real-time telematics data: location, fault codes, energy consumption, and remote diagnostics.

EMC in Harsh Environments

Automotive electronics must survive wide temperature ranges, voltage transients, vibration, and moisture — while meeting CISPR 25 EMC requirements.

Functional Safety (ISO 26262)

Safety-critical systems (braking, steering, BMS) require systematic hazard analysis and ASIL-rated design.

Ask our engineers
Question 01

Do you design BMS for Li-ion or LiFePO4 packs?

Both. We most commonly design for LiFePO4 (safer thermal characteristics, preferred for Indian EV applications) and NMC Li-ion. We size the BMS to the cell chemistry and pack configuration.
